For more than 15 years, A Natural Affair has been a driving force in providing a wide-range of natural hair care services for the Greater Memphis area.
Founded in 2008 by TaKeisha Berry-Brooks with the first location on Poplar Avenue, A Natural Affair began with a focus on serving clients with natural hair or those transitioning to natural due to rising popularity, as well as to create an environment where women and children would feel empowered to discover and embrace their natural beauty.
A Natural Affair has continued to grow, and in 2022, opened an additional location in Cordova, TN to serve clients in the Memphis-area suburbs. The salons have been featured in various local, regional, and national outlets, as well as have received many awards for being one of the best salons for natural hair in the nation.

Traditional Loc Services
Loc Maintenance (60 minutes)
This service includes shampoo and conditioning treatments, retwisting of Locs and option for Loc styling after drying.
Starter Traditional Locs (60 minutes)
This service includes shampoo and conditioning treatment. The hair is then parted into uniformed sections and twists are installed.
Sisterlocks™/Brotherlocks™
Sisterlocks™ Retightening (120 minutes)
This service is for clients who have committed to the Sisterlocks Journey. This is the maintenance after the initial installation.
Partial Retightening (Edges) (30 minutes)
This service is recommended for clients who need extra care maintenance around edges because of the delay of the locking process (due to slippage). This service sometimes requires a commitment of every two weeks/fresh look until next service.
Retightening and Style (150 minutes)
This service is a basic Sisterlocks™ retightening with Rods or/and updo.
Sisterlocks™ Installation (480 minutes)
This service is available by phone only. Please call to schedule.
This service requires a consultation to determine pricing and estimated time. Please contact us for more info regarding these service. A $100 non-refundable deposit must be paid in order to schedule this service.
Follow Up Sisterlocks™ Installation (30 minutes)
This appointment is for clients who have had new Sisterlocks™ installed. This service is included in the initial price. This service includes and thorough exam of locks installed light retightening and (shampoo upon request or as needed).
Shampoo and Style-Locks (60 minutes)
This service is for clients who have Sisterlocks™ or Traditional locks. This includes shampoo, conditioning, and Styling the locks.
Latch Locs
Latchlocking/Interlocking Maintenance (60 minutes)
This service includes Shampoo and Conditioning Treatment. Locs are relatched.
Latch Locs Installation (180 minutes)
This service is a locking method that is assisted with a tool. The locks are installed and based properly for support as the lock grows and matures. Please set up a consult for proper pricing.
Loose Natural Styles
Comb Coils (60 minutes)
This service includes a Shampoo and Conditioning treatment. The hair is detangled and individual coils are installed. This style, depending on texture, can last about one to two weeks without the locking process starting. (price increases based on length)
Double Strand Twists (75 minutes)
This style includes Shampoo and Conditioning Treatment. The hair is detangled and individual Double strand Twists are installed on full head. Price may increase based on length. Consult is recommended.
Curly Cut (30 minutes)
This unique service allows our staff to cut your hair in the Natural State without having to alter with heat! The Curly Cut is precise and Shampoo and Conditioning Treatment is included in the price. (price increase based on length of hair) *consult*
Rods (120 minutes)
This service includes shampoo and conditioning treatment. The natiral hair is placed on rods to set and dry. This is a great protective style and lasts for about two to three weeks depending on texture.
Childrens’ Double Strand Twists (120 minutes)
This service include your Shampoo and Conditioning treatment. The hair is detangled then individual two strand twists are installed on the entire head. This service is for children 12 years and younger.
Twist Out Tuesday (60 minutes)
This service includes a Shampoo and conditioning treatment, Flat Twists installed, Then you can leave as a style or let us Twist It Out! Call us for price details! This is a deal you don’t want to miss! This price is offered on Tuesdays Only!!!!!!
Combination Creation (120 minutes)
This includes a shampoo and conditioning treatment. The stylist will combine braiding and twisting to create a awesome style with your natural hair that will be out of the box! This will be a true conversation piece.
Flat Twist Updo (120 minutes)
This elegant style is very beautiful and can be achieve with your natural hair. This updo can be styled in many different ways and great for protective styling.
Wash and Go (40 minutes)
“Twist Outs” (75 minutes)
You will receive a shampoo and condition. The hair will be flat twisted or chunky twisted. You can leave in ( for better results and deeper waves) or it can be taken down after drying.
Flexi Rods (130 minutes)
Flexi rods are a great alternative to a traditional rod set. It can elongate the hair, which gives more of a spiral curl appearance. It can also give the hair a voluminous look which isn’t always achieved with a traditional rod set.
Dry Double Strand Twists (150 minutes)
Hair is shampooed, conditioned, and blown dry. Individual double strands are then put into the hair. This style can last up to 6 weeks.
Curly Cut and Shingling (60 minutes)
This appointment is for curly naturals who desires a shaping trim in the curly state and shingling method to create a freestyle. After trim, stylist will apply, mousse, moisturizer, or Eco styler to natural hair, this can help elongate & define curls.
Protective Styles
Double Strand Extentions/Kinky Twists (360 minutes)
This service is considered a protective style. Whether transitioning or protecting your natural tresses. this style can last up to 6-8 weeks! Consult and deposit is required for this service. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required before scheduling.
Sew In (180 minutes)
This is a great protective style for your natural tresses or a great transitioning option. This style allows the hair to be left undisturbed while your hair transition smoothly! Consult Required for this service please call.
Latch Stitch Weaving (180 minutes)*
You must have your deposit paid before scheduling this service. Call for more information.

Bantu Knots are so beautiful! This can be a great summer style whether you are going to the beach or want to tame your fro, This is the way to go! you can also wear a Bantu knot Out for another style option, either way you go, you will be set!
Flat Twist Updo (120 minutes)
This elegant style is very beautiful and can be achieve with your natural hair. This updo can be styled in many different ways and great for protective styling.
Protective Style- afro curly puff hair (180 minutes)
This style is versatile and we use afro curly puff extension hair to protect your natural tresses. This style can last double to a traditional protective style on natural (no extension) hair.
Dry Double Strand Twists (150 minutes)
Hair is shampooed, conditioned, and blown dry. Individual double strands are then put into the hair. This style can last up to 6 weeks.
Havana Twists (185 minutes)
Consultation is required before booking this service. Large individual twists that can last up to 10 weeks. A $50 non-refundable deposit must be paid before this service can be scheduled.

Color and Coil – Thursdays (90 minutes)
This style is discounted on Thursdays only. Our stylist is trained to provide you with our all nutrient organic color system and coils for half the cost. If your hair is 4 inches or longer, there will be an additional fee of $5 per inch thereafter.
Braids

Cornrows (Natural Hair) (120 minutes)
This service includes a shampoo and conditioning treatment. This is a simple protective style and can be styled in many different patterns. Great for children and adults.
No Knot Cornrows (Natural Hair) (120 minutes)
No knots is a technique that allows the cornrows to have the illusion of of natural hair. Actually small pieces of hair will be fed into the braid to create a neat appearance and can last up to two to four weeks depending on texture and size.
Cornrow Braids w/ Extension Hair (Adult) (180 minutes)
Transitional or protective style, extension hair is added in this service depending on size, could last between 2-6 weeks. Consultation is required.
Organic Color Services
All Nutrient Hair Color – Permanent (60 minutes)
This service is for clients who is ready to start their natural journey! This includes Shampoo and Conditioning Treatment. The hair is cut at the line of Demarcation (line between natural and relaxed hair)and the stylist shapes into a wearable style.
Hi Lites – Weaving Half Head (60 minutes)
We use this to add high or low lites to any hair or texture. If you currently wear color this will enhance what you already have. Our staff if proficient in using the weaving and foil technique for a well blended custom and flawless color!
Color and Hi Lites (90 minutes)
Both color and Hi Lites are created in this service. The mix of hi and low colors are blended and applied.
All Nutrient Color Glaze (45 minutes)
This service is considered a protective style. Whether transitioning or protecting your natural tresses. this style can last up to 6-8 weeks! Consult and deposit is required for this service. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required before scheduling.
Hi Lites – Weaving Full Head (60 minutes)
The weaving technique allows you to have high or low lites. This can enhance any color you are currently wearing. This will be a full head of the foil technique.
Thermal Straightening
Flat Iron/HydroIonic System (90 minutes)
This service requires the altering of your natural curl pattern through heat. This is one of the safest approaches to straightening your natural without having to chemically alter. Our staff uses quality Titanium Smart Flat Irons.
